DISPLAYS, MONITORS, LARGE-FORMAT DISPLAYS & PROJECTORS

A great variety of different display technologies are integrated into smartphones, tablets, notebooks, monitors and television sets such as LCD, LED, OLED and plasma, whose quality has to be adjusted and evaluated in the manufacturing process and during operation.

In addition to brightness and contrast range, illumination uniformity plays a role where backlit systems are concerned. The situation is similar for light tables used to view film footage or for advertising purposes, as well as for digital projectors. Active large format displays for outdoor advertising also have to be measured and evaluated, in order to determine whether or not requirements stipulated in local ordinances and national immission protection laws are complied with.

As a rule, a MAVO-SPOT 2 USB luminance meter for distance measurement is used to this end, or a MAVO-MONITOR USB meter for contact measurement at actively luminous surfaces. Alternatively, the illumination uniformity of a projection surface can be evaluated with a MAVOLUX luxmeter.
